The suspect identified as Bernard Kenyanya was arrested by police officers from Gesonso police station after a local accused him for failing to deliver building materials as he promised.

"He has been lying that he owns a hardware and could supply building materials. I paid him a deposit of Sh15,000 to deliver 80 bags of cement and the rest of the money we agreed I was to pay once he delivers cement," said the victim who declined to be named.

The victim added that the suspect went into hiding after he received the money on January 10.

"I waited for him to deliver cement as we agreed but in vain. He was not picking my calls. When I tried to inquire from his friends, I realized that the man was a a conman without the hardware as he early claimed," stated the victim.

The suspect is currently being held at Gesonso police cells awaiting to be charged in court on Friday.

"The suspect will be taken to court on Friday to be charged over fraud," said Simbe, a police officer.
