29-year old man was today March 30, 2016 in the morning arrested at his home in Kiliku sub-location in Kangundo sub-county after he was allegedly caught selling bhang to young people.
Maundu Mwatu was arrested by the area subchief Dorothy Kisaingu assisted by community policy officers after he was tipped by one of the residents that the man was in the house.
He has been selling bhang even to young people leading to school dropouts.
According to Madam Kisaingu, the man was arrested with four rolls of bhang.
"Assisted by community police officers I have managed to arrest this man who has been smoking and selling bhang. I have been getting complaints from his neighbours but whenever we storm in his house he manages to escape," said Madam Kisaingu.
Mwatu was taken to Kangundo police station where he is detained as he awaits to be arraigned in court today.
The subchief thanked residents who have been working hand in hand with her and community policy officers towards arresting the man and urged them to embrace unity which is the only way to eradicate abusive drugs in the area.
