Police officers on Monday arrested a scrap metal with vandalised equipment from the Standard Gauge Railway.

He was arrested in Mariakani Kilifi County.

This comes after a section of the SGR was vandalised on Friday night by unknown people days before its historic launch.

The scrap metal dealer was arrested as authorities intensified the hunt for other people who were involved in the destruction.

The multi-billion project will be launched on Wednesday, May 31st by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
