The police were alerted by residents, who suspected the stranger who had been going round in search of a slaughter house in the area for almost an hour

Confirming the incident, Masii area OCPD Joseph Mugo reported that 13 bulls were recovered by police officers after a hint by the public.

“Through investigation and information provided by the public we have found 13 bulls that were at the backyard of Masii town and we believe they were about to be slaughtered and sold in the butcheries in the area. We have the accused in our custody in Masii police post,” said Mugo

The area police boss further cited that the livestock had been transported by means of a lorry from Kajiado to Masii, where they were to be sold.

“From our investigations, we have found out that the cows were offloaded a while ago by a lorry that left immediately,” he added

However, the police have confirmed that the owner of the cows had already reported his missing livestock in Kajiado police station.

Assisted by the police officers in Kajiado, the Masii police officers have been able to determine the destination the cows had been stolen from.

Mugo has sent a stern warning to cattle rustlers that the police will not hesitate to work tirelessly to ensure the area is not used as a hideout for the thieves.

He also thanked the public and encouraged reporting of any suspected wrong doing.

“The hand of the law will catch up with the law breakers who intend to use our area as a hide-out or a market for stolen property,” said Mugo.
