Mohammed Waiganjo appeared before resident magistrate E W Mburu and charged with an offence of being in possession narcotic drugs.

The accused, who pleaded guilty, asked the court to let him go as he was feeling unwell, which was a result of the alleged beating he received during his arrest.

The prosecution told the court that the accused was arrested in Mihango area of Kiambu on October 2 by Mihango police post officers who were on patrol. They met the accused ‘looking very confused’ on sight of the officers.

On searching him, the officers allegedly found three rolls of bang in his pockets. He was arrested and taken to Mihango police post before being transferred to Thika police station.

The court rejected his request and advised him to sue the police officers who assaulted him once the judgment of his case is issued.

The court set the judgment day on October 7.
