Kisii residents in Nyaribari Chache constituency have appealed to the police to launch an investigation after one of the residents was attacked by arrows by one of the guards at Erera Golf Sports ground.
Led by Area Member of county assembly Monyenye Yoge they condemned the incident as they said that investigation should be done so that they can understand well what prompted the guard to attack with arrows.
William Mokua who is a vocal member of community policing officer in Nyanchwa area had allegedly gone to inquire from the guards why they threw arrows to children who were passing near the golf course. Then in retaliation, the guards responded by shooting him with arrows.
Police and the area MCA calmed down the local residents promising to bring justice with the help of the police.
“Today’s incident is worrying that is why we have asked the police to launch an investigation which we hope through the findings we will understand why he was attacked by arrows," said Monyenye.
County Commander Agnes Mudambi said the suspects and the club manager are currently being questioned at Kisii Central police station where preferred charges will be decided upon once investigations are complete.
The attack took place on Saturday has been condemned by residents as they urge the county government of Kisii to help them open the road that passes through the Golf ground which was closed by the sports management.
The victim was taken to Kisii teaching and referral hospital where he is under medical attention.
