A man aged 30 years from Amasago Keumbu Nyaribari Chache Kisii County on Saturday attacked and injured his aunt over suspected witchcraft.
The man only identified as Nyarige claimed that her aunt Mary Okeno bewitched his mother who died 2 years ago.
“I attacked her because she bewitched my mother who died 2 years ago. I will not sit and watch her walk freely in the village while my mother was buried. She has to die also for my heart to settle down,” said Nyarige.
Nyarige dared police to arrest him saying he is not scared to be jailed.
“I am ready to be jailed. My aunt is a witch who should be lynched before she kills other people in the area. Police should not protect killers who have killed innocent people,” he added.
Mrs. Okeno is currently receiving treatment at Keumbu hospital following the injuries she sustained during the attack.
