A man from Marakwet West is recuperating at Kapsowar mission hospital after his wife beat and injured him in a domestic brawl.
The man, identified as Joseph Chelimo,48, suffered serious injuries on the right chick and head after his wife attacked him with an axe on Tuesday night.
According to residents, the woman who is a liquor brewer in the area disagreed with her husband when they went to sleep.
A resident Andrew Rutto said the woman after committing the crime called neighbors to take the man to hospital before she went into hiding.
"We found the man lying on the ground in a pool of blood unconscious. His wife disappeared when we arrived the homestead. We rushed the man to hospital", said Rutto.
Area DCIO Jonathan Mwaluko said the suspect was arrested and will be arraigned in court once investigations are complete.
"She will be charged with causing bodily harm. We are investigating the motive of the attack since she has refused to reveal what happened," said Mwaluko.
He noted that the doctors said the man is out of danger and responding well to treatment.
