A 31-year old man on Thursday evening allegedly hit his wife to death using a wooden-log.
The incident took place in Ngewani village, Katangi location in Yatta sub-county, Machakos County where the man had allegedly gone for the wife at his In-Law’s place after they had a disagreement earlier this week leading the wife to seek rescue at her parents’ home.
The accused then got very furious after his wife, whom they have been married for ten years now declined to return with him.
Katangi police OCPD Joseph Mugo confirmed the incident stating that the police officers have gone on a riding spree within the community in search of the man who escaped after noticing that he killed his wife.
“This is a very unfortunate incident and the suspect went on hiding last night after he committed the offence but I want to ensure the victims family that police officers have already launched a search for the culprit and he will soon be brought to book,” said Mugo.
The saddened parents of the victim explained that the two has been having a rough relationship during the ten years they lived as a man and wife, though they had stuck together as they had a son aged ten years whom has now been left with the grandparents.
Mugo confirmed that the body of the victim had been taken to the Machakos Level 5 Hospital mortuary.
