A man attacked and injured his mother-in-law for allegedly helping his wife to terminate her pregnancy.
The man only identified as Davis who hails from Nyamerako village in Bogiakumu ward descended on his wife's mother on Sunday evening.
"The woman had come to check on her daughter who was unwell when the man started beating her up accusing her of helping his wife secure an arbotion," said Rebecca Nyabuto a local.
Area Nyumba Kumi official Enock Onditi confirmed the attack and said the man attacked and injured his mother-in-law on the neck.
"We are investigating Devis's claims that his mother-in-law helped his wife to terminate her pregnancy something that led to the brutal attack. We will get full details before we take action against him," said Onditi.
He warned locals from taking the law into their hands but instead involve elders in helping them solve their differences.
The official said the mother-in-law was rescued by neighbors who rushed her to Matongo dispensary where she was treated and discharged.
Reached for a comment area assistant chief only identified as Mamburi said he had summoned the man to report to his office on Tuesday over the matter.
