A 38-year-old man was on Wednesday evening arrested by members of the public and handed over to police officers, for allegedly fighting his father in Murogi area, Nakuru County.
Elija Mburu, a hawker in Nakuru town fought his 69-year-old father and injured him, after the father allegedly tried to warn him against excessive intake of alcohol.
Acccordin to Joseph Mburu, his son is an alcohol addict and this has affected his health, something that saw his wife desert him.
“He does not know the price of a shirt or a kilogramme of flour. He was left by his wife a year ago, I am the one who dresses him and feeds him, he does not know the price of flour,” said the father.
The father narrates how his son came home looking for food, leading to an exchange which saw Elijah try to beat up the old man before the locals came to his rescue.
Mburu was then beaten up by members of the public, who later surrendered him to AP camp in Free area, where he is being held awaiting to be taken to court
The old man, who lost his wife in a tragic road accident a month ago was taken to the nearby clinic for treatment and allowed to go home.
