Nahashon Nzau was attacked when he attempted to drive away the wildlife that was destroying crops at his farm in Kyanzavi village, Matungulu Sub County on Wednesday.

The incident was confirmed by Nyumba Kumi chairman, Jeremiah Kioko, who said the monkeys attacked, bit and tore the man before he could be rescued by locals."It was in the evening and the man had gone to check on his farm only to find a group of monkeys devouring the farm produce. In an attempt to drive them away, the six monkeys attacked him. He was seriously injured," Kioko said. Kioko disclosed that the area has been experiencing a human-wildlife conflict that has left their farms without food.He said the Kenya Wildlife services ought to up their game in reducing human-wildlife conflict.Kioko retaliated that the farmers would harvest nothing due to damages caused by the monkeys."There are farmers who toiled in cultivating and planting but their efforts have amounted to zero just because the KWS couldn't retain the beasts," Kioko said.He said they had reported the matter at Ol-Donyo Sabuk Police Station.Kioko told this writer that they will record another statement at the region's KWS offices today.
