A man who allegedly forged his employer’s signature and used fake documents to transact business was yesterday charged at a Nakuru court.
Maurice Sikwa, 35, appeared before Nakuru Chief Magistrate Patrick Mwaniki to answer to three counts of forgery and presenting forged documents.
The court heard that on various dates and places last month year, the accused intentionally presented forged documents for business transactions purporting to represent genuine business deals of his former employer Patel Shamji.
According to the prosecution, the accused who worked as sales personnel with Meera Enterprises in Nakuru town forged his employer’s signature on unofficial distribution documents that he used to supply goods to the firms customers.
The prosecution also said that the accused should be charged with presenting a forged document with an intent to gain financially from one, Agnes Mwangi, a customer of the complainant who upon suspicion contacted the employer of the accused.
He was released on a 200,000 bond.
The case will be heard on November 20th.
