Simon Njuguna denied the charges before chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku.

He was accused that on the night of April 4 at Kiandutu slums in Thika, he allegedly sodomised a 10-year-old boy.

The prosecutor, Monicah Muthoni, told the court that on the alleged day, the mother of the victim had sent his son to the market to buy charcoal at around 6:30pm and he came back at 8:00pm staggering.

On questioning him, she realised that the son had been sodomised by a man known to him.

The boy was accompanied by his two friends who noticed a man following them. The accused allegedly grabbed him and took him to a nearby bush where he stripped him, tied his hands and legs and proceeded to rape him three times until the boy managed to escape and went home.

The mother took the son to St. Mulumba Mission Hospital the following day where he received treatment and then reported the incident to the police.

The accused was released on a 200, 000 shilling bond and his case slated for hearing on April 28.
