A man was on Wednesday arraigned before a Nakuru court and charged with gang rape of a 17-years old minor.
Appearing before Principal Magistrate Joe Omido, Victor Okwemba with others not before court was accused of allegedly gang raping a 17-year-old minor on January 13, 2018 at Rhonda Estate in Nakuru County.
Okwemba was also charged with an alternative count of an indecent act with a child by touching her private part.
He pleaded not guilty to both the main and alternative counts stating that it was a mistaken identity because he was not identified by the complainant.
"The two ladies did not identify me, I am the only son to my parents and I am solemnly taking care of them," Okwemba said.
Prosecution through Denis Atika said the state had no objection to bond being granted to the accused. "I pray that this case be mentioned before the court on February 8, in consolidation with no.9 of 2018" said Atika.
The court ordered that the accused be released on a Cash bail of sh200, 000.
