A middle-aged man from Mavoloni was on Friday charged in Kithimani law courts for defiling his four-year daughter.
Appearing before Senior Resident Magistrate Martha.A.Opanga the accused, Joseph Mackenzie Wambua pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him.
According to the prosecution, the accused was arrested on March 16, 2016 in Kambi ya Mawe area where he had commuted the act on March 15, 2016.
The accused also faced alternative charges of indecent act with a child. An attempt by the suspect to be released on bail were opposed by the prosecution as his release may interfere with prosecution witnesses.
The judge directed the suspect be detained in Kithimani police station until March 23, 2016 when he will appear again in court.
