A man has been charged with defilement in Nakuru County.
Victor Okwemba who appeared before a Nakuru court on Thursday, was linked to a gang that allegedly raped a student in Nakuru town.
The prosecution told the court that the accused jointly with others still at large raped the girl aged 17 years at Rhonda area within Nakuru town on January 13, 2018.
Police reports indicated the suspects waylaid the girl while she was returning home from school.
Okwemba appeared before magistrate Bernard Moraro.
The accused denied the defilement charges and asked the court to release him on bond on grounds that he is innocent.
He was released on a Sh200,000 bond.
The case will be mentioned on February 8.
