A man was on Tuesday arraigned at a Nakuru Court and charged with defilement.
Osikaro Baraza, 31, appeared before Chief Magistrate Joel Ngeno and denied the charges.
The court was told that on September 20, at Nakuru town, the accused sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl after luring the minor into his house and repeatedly raped her.
The accused was also charged wit indecently touching the private parts of the minor without her consent.
The prosecution urged the court to pass a tough sentence to the accused saying the rate at which minors were being sexually assaulted were on the rise.
The prosecution said it was only through passing tough sentences to sex predators that incidences of sexual assault on minors will decrease.
However, the accused denied the charges and was released on a Sh70,000 bond with a surety of a similar amount .
The hearing of the case was set for November 12.
