A middle aged man has been charged with defilement in Masinga, Machakos County.

Peter Muendo Muema was arraigned in Kithimani Law Courts on Tuesday.

The accused who appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Evelyn Wambugu pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.

According to the prosecution, the accused allegedly committed the heinous act on 3rd April 2018 at Kivaa in Masinga Sub county.

He allegedly woe the young girl and defiled her.

The accused was asked to pay a cash bond of Sh200,000 with a surety of the same amount.

The case is set for mention on 24th April 2018.
