A man was arraigned in a Kiambu court on Friday and charged with defilement of a minor contrary to the constitution.

According to the prosecution, the middle-aged man lured the child with pieces of candy which he used as the bait to have the child give in to his evil advancement.

Lee Robert Ochieng is allegedly said to have used his fingers to grope the young girl’s private parts on a different account. The minor is six years old.

Ochieng’ committed the offence on 13/01/2018, according to the prosecution, in Kahawa West Estate in Nairobi County. However, Ochieng’ pleaded not guilty to both the accounts before the Kiambu Chief Magistrate Stella Atambo.

The case is set to be mentioned on 29/01/2018 ad heard on 5/3/2018 the time when, according to the prosecutor Christine Mbevi, “five witnesses are expected to testify against the man.”

The suspect was released on a Sh300,000 bond with the guarantor of the equal amount without the option of cash bail.

This act comes just a few days after a man raped two she-goats to death in Machakos county in an action that raised a mixture of reactions from the members of his county and the police department.

Nonetheless, cases children defilement has declined from the headlines lately in different parts of the country.
