On Thursday, a man was accused of killing is lover on the first date at the Milimani Law Courts.
According to reports, Richard Nyakina Ogoko, decided not to take a plea due to the absence of his advocate.
This prompted Judge James Wakiaga to postpone the court case.
“The suspect cannot take plea unrepresented because the law requires that murder suspects be represented in court,” said Mr Wakiaga.
The accused is said to have killed Lydia Nyaboke Onano after she agreed to meet for the first time.
Her younger brother, Japheth Onono says she never returned home and he was forced to contact local authorities.“She told me she was in Ngong and may not come back home. I then asked her for money to buy dinner, which she promised to send in the next five minutes,” Onono said as reported by The Standard.Last Friday, he received a call from theS Special Crimes Prevention Unit saying they had arrested a man who admitted to killing his sister.
The accused is set to take a plea on September 7.
