A suspect in the murder of a man in Chepkoilel, Uasin Gishu County, was on Tuesday charged with manslaughter in an Eldoret court.

The suspect, Hosea Kipruto Kipchumba, was accused of killing Sammy Kemboi Biwott on the night of September 23 and 24 at Canaan House.

The prosecution told the court that the accused, with 16 other people not before the court, killed Biwott on the said dates claiming that he was among the thieves terrorizing locals in the area.

Kipchumba denied the manslaughter charges leveled against him.

The hearing of the case was set for November 27.
