A man charged with raping a 73-year-old woman was on Wednesday released on a Sh400,000 bond by an Eldoret court.

The prosecution told the court that the accused committed the offense at Kimoning area, Eldoret East sub-county, Uasin Gishu County on July 8.

The woman told the court that the suspect attacked and injured her during the incident.

The court also charged the suspect with theft.

He, however, denied the charges leveled against him.

The case has been scheduled for hearing on February 12 next year.
