A man who was drunk on Thursday committed suicide in Kijabe after he returned home late and drunk.
It is said the the man's wife refused to open the door for him.
The deceased used a rope to hang himself.
His body was discovered on Friday morning hanging from a tree in the family’s compound along Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
A neighbor, James Karimi, said the man's wife has been complaining about her husband's drinking habits.
Karimi said the deceased has ignored his responsibilities to provide for his children.
“Anytime the deceased gets money, he visits bar joints where he drinks and comes home late night drunk," he said.
A police officer who requested anonymity said the man's body has been taken to Naivasha sub-county hospital mortuary.
The officer added that the woman has recorded a statement with police.
