According to residents, the man's body was found hanging from the roof of his house by his father on Thursday morning.
Area assistant chief Benjamin Ayuma confirmed the incident and said the deceased Wycliffe Oginga had quarreled with family members before he hanged himself.
"The family has been having domestic issues. We tried to solve it but unsuccessful. The father and mother of the deceased were not on good terms but as local leaders we tried to reunite yet it seems there are still problems in the family," he said.
Ayuma said the deceased was a boda-boda operator in the area.
"Until his death, he was a boda-boda rider plying Matongo-Gesonso-Kisii town route," he said.
Police officers from Gesonso police station arrived at the scene and took the body to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
