Residents of Masongo in Nyaribari Chache Kisii county are mourning the death of a middle aged man who committed suicide on Monday night after he had a bitter exchange with his wife.

It is said that the man only identified as Walter consumed poison after the wife confessed that she was seeing another man. 

"The wife told him that she was not happy with his drinking habit reason she was seeing the other man," said James Eng'iti a neighbor. 

Ms Mary Omoso the area chief confirmed the incident saying that the man died at the Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital where he was receiving medication. 

 "I ask couples to solve their differences ammicably to avoid such incidents," she said. 

The body of the man was taken to the hospital's morgue.
