A body of a man was found in a hotel room in Eldoret on Sunday.

A poison sachet was found beside the man’s body and a suicide note was also retrieved from his pocket.

The man left the suicide note saying he was being disturbed by his wife’s frequent night phone calls.

“I can no longer put up with the behavior of my wife who receives phone calls from a man who she has refused to reveal,” the suicide note read part.

According to the hotel management, the deceased checked into the hotel room at 6 pm on Saturday.

Deputy County commissioner Gideon Ombongi said police have launched investigations over the matter.

Ombongi asked women to stop causing stress to men.

“Married women should stop making their husband be disturbed and opt to take their own lives. Marital problems should be solved using church elders or local government officers,” he said.

The man’s body was taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
