A 26-year-old man has committed suicide in Mshomoroni, Mombasa County in suspected love triangle case. The man, who was later identified as Peter Mwinyi, hanged himself on Wednesday morning after he allegedly realized his wife was having an affair with another man in the neighbor.
Confirming the incident, Mombasa county police commander Johnstone Ipara said security officers are probing the incident.The man is said to have resolved to suicide after engaging in a heated argument with the wife, who reportedly escaped from the home. The body of the deceased was discovered on Wednesday morning.
Speaking to journalists, a witness said that they had reported the matter to the administrative pending investigation.
“The man had reported the matter to the chief and the two had been summoned on Wednesday to appear before the chief where the matter was to be heard,” said one of the residents on condition of anonymity.
The body of the deceased was later transferred to Coast general hospital morgue.
