Elias Chomba, 24, who was a boda-boda operator, is reported to have been in a relatively jovial mood minutes before he took his life by ingesting an insecticide.
According to Kathiga Chief Jeremiah Muriithi, the deceased’s suicidal note also warned neighbouring men against “playing around” with his wife.
“Elias’ reasons for committing suicide remain unknown. He, however, left a note saying his wife should be given maximum protection by the family, and that the plot of land he was supposed to be given by his mother to be given to a certain Macharia who is, in turn, expected to act as his wife’s guardian,” said Mr. Muriithi as quoted by Citizen.
Mr. Chomba’s body was taken to Kibugi Funeral Home awaiting a postmortem.
