A 28-year-old man has been arraigned in a Nakuru court to face charges of causing disturbances and abusing family members. Appearing before chief resident magistrate Felix Kombo on Friday, Peter Ngaruia was accused that on the evening of January 14 this year in Mawanga estate in Nakuru sub-county, he destroyed the windscreen and flattened tires of a family car. The court heard that he allegedly used an abusive language against his mother, Veronicah Wangui, and his two sisters. The prosecution bench told the court further that the accused, who was in company of others who were not before the court, attempted to vandalise the family car and destroyed food items at his family’s residence while claiming that he was being discriminated against. The prosecution desk told the court that the accused further used vulgar language against her own mother and sisters when he described them as prostitutes. He was arrested by police officers from Teachers police post after a relative John Kahoro who witnessed the incident reported the matter to the police. The accused denied the charges and was released on a cash bond of Sh20,000. The case will be heard on February 17.
