A man died on the spot after being knocked down by a lorry carrying sand at Migosi Junction along Kakamega road.

The incident occurred at 11 am when the motorist who was heading towards Kakamega tried to overtake a Nissan Van. The  car and the lorry carrying the sand collided head on.

The lorry's driver hurried to Kondole police station in bid to evade angry motorists who were chasing after him.

Police later arrived at the scene and took the body to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral morgue.
