A man died on Saturday after slipping and falling into a ditch in Kyua area, Yatta sub-county of Machakos county.
The 46-year-old man is said to have accidentally fallen into the ditch and died.
The incident was confirmed by Yatta OCPD Edward Kipsang Changach who observed that the man was heading home from the market when the incident happened.
“The deceased was heading home from Ndiuni market when he slipped and fell into the ditch," said Changach.
Police boss Changach told the press that the lifeless body of the man was discovered by members of the public who raised alarm.
“I was informed about the incident by Syokisinga sub-chief, police visited the scene and retrieved the body," said Changach.
The body of the man was taken to Kitui level five hospital mortuary for preservation awaiting postmortem.
investigations have been launched to establish the cause of his death.
“The police are yet to establish the cause of his death," said the OCPD.
