A man on Tuesday died at a construction site at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

The deceased, who was a mason, died after falling from a roof of a building he was constructing at the health facility.

Eyewitnesses told the police that the middle-aged man was busy working when he slid and fell head first.

He was rushed to the hospital but, unfortunately, he died while receiving treatment.

"He succumbed to deep injuries on his head when doctors were attending him. He had fallen from the roof a six-storey building while working," said Nairobi Central OCPD Harrison Thuku.

The body was taken to the hospital's mortuary.

Thuku said they have launched investigations into the incident.
