A-32-year old man has died after he was electrocuted in Matungulu, Machakos County on Wednesday.
Kioko Wambua died on the spot after he mistakenly touched live electric cables belonging to Kenya Power Company which had fallen down as a result of heavy downpour in Ngalalya.
Confirming the incident, Kimiti sub chief Stanislaus Malului said the deceased accidentally touched the cables after some electric poles holding them fell.
Malului said the Kenya Power Company installed the poles but did not last a day.
"Yesterday they installed the poles that had fallen but they dug the holes shallowly making them fall overnight," Malului said.
He said Kenya Power Company took long to respond when they were informed that the poles had fallen, they later switched off the power line and lifted the polls.
The body was moved to Kangundo Level Four Hospital's mortuary as the residents vented their anger on the power company for negligence.
