A-27-year old man has died in an accident along Nairobi-Kangundo road in Machakos County.
George Mukila died on the spot after the motorcycle he was riding was rammed into by a bus at Mutalia in Matungulu on Wednesday.
Confirming the incident, Matungulu police boss Samuel Mukuusi said both the bus and the motocyle towing construction metals were headed towards Nairobi direction from Kangundo when the incident ocured.
Mukuusi said driver of the bus attempted to overtake the motorcycle thus riding over the metal pieces making it hard for the motorcyclist to move.
"The accident happened around 9am at Mutalia area in the morning after the bus driver tried to overtake the motorcyclist who was rising in front of him," Mukuusi said.
"Mukila died on the spot due to the impact after falling on the road," added Mukuusi.
He said a bus passenger sustained slight injuries, he was treated at Bahati Medical Centre and discharged.
The body was removed to Kangundo Level Four Hospital mortuary.
Both the bus and motorcycle were towed to KBC Police Station awaiting inspection.
He urged motorists to exercise caution while on the road and be wary of other road users to avoid accidents.
