Residents of Mukuru slums in Nairobi on Monday night spent the night in cold as fire razed down houses in the area.
A man was burnt to death in the incident as residents were fighting to put the fire off but they could not save the man who was a sleepy by the time the fire broke.
Geoffrey Maeba, a resident said that the fire started from a neighbor's and spread further to other houses killing the man.
"The fire was as a result of poor power connections. Residents in the area have opted to connect electricity manually and this could be the reason for the fire incident that has left us homeless," said Maeba.
The body of the man was taken to city mortuary by police who were called by residents to the scene.
