A middle aged man shocked residents of Nyamusi shopping center in Nyamira county after he divorced his wife on claims that she is ugly.
The incident happened on Sunday.
Witnesses said the man identified as Morira sent his wife packing in broad day light while members of the public watched the free cinema.
"The man who is a boda boda rider returned to their rented house at Nyamusi and asked his wife to pack her belongings and leave his house because she was not beautiful. The wife tried to persuade him but in vain," said Bob Momanyi.
Mr. Momanyi claimed that Morira married his wife 4 months ago while they were in courtship the woman used to apply makeup to improve her beauty.
" Morira's wife used to apply makeups and lipstick all through the period they were in courtship. It seems the woman run out of cash to buy makeups something that made the man to realize she was ugly without makeups and decided to kick her out of the his house," he said.
Area Nyumba Kumi official Henry Morang'a confirmed the incident and said the woman who hails from Magwagwa ward left the man's house with all her belongings.
Morang'a said nobody could have interfered with them because they married each other on their own.
