A man’s body was on Sunday discovered in Sasumwa dam within Nyandarua County.
The man is allegedly from Thindigua area within Kiambu County.
36-year-old David Ngige allegedly toured the area during the Christmas holiday with one of his relatives from the area.
It is alleged that the man was swimming in the dam when he drowned. His body was later discovered floating on the dam.
Sasumwa police boss Simon Kiprop has urged the residents not to put their lives at risk by swimming in the areas that pose a threat to their lives.
“Do not swim in dams where you are not sure of your safety. We will continue with the investigations to ascertain whether the man was really swimming or it is a homicide,” Kiprop said.
The body was taken to Naivasha General Hospital mortuary as further investigations are conducted.
