36-year old man was on Sunday night seriously injured after he was electrocuted in his house in Kariobangi slum Machakos town.
Confirming the unfortunate incident, Machakos town chief Joshua Kimeu said that the victim had tapped electricity from one of his neighbours which is unlawful when it happened.
"Many people in the slum have a tendency of tapping electricity from neighbours despite frequent warnings from Kenya Power and Lightening Company officers based in Machakos town. Such incident has never occurred though," he said.
Kimeu warned residents against tapping electricity from neighbours saying it is very dangerous and can easily lead to death.
The injured was rushed to Machakos level five hospital where he is recuperating. He will be arraigned in court on June 29.
