A middle-aged man has dramatically claimed the land belonging to Nyakomisaro SDA church, arguing that he had leased it to them for only five years but the church, contrary to the agreement, went ahead to start construction.

Wilson Achachi, 55, on Friday asked the church to vacate from his land and threatened to sue them if they ignored his directive.

He said that he had given the church temporary shelter as they sought to acquire an alternative land in five years’ time.

“This was in the year 2010 when I voluntarily gave them my land to worship God till they acquire a different one for construction. But unfortunately though, I am seeing them assembling materials for construction against our agreement,” he said.

“I know it is a church but at the same time I have to speak out my mind. There is a game being played here and I will not tolerate it and if they don’t respect me, the court will be the final resolution,” he added.

However, church elder Moses Ombati has requested the aggrieved to allow dialogue instead on throwing scathing attacks towards the church.

“I am new in this place and I may not have a clue on what is going on but we should sit down and talk. It doesn’t mean that the construction materials we have acquired are meant for building around this place,” he said.
