Drama erupted at a local bar after a man attacked a police officer with kicks and blows for demanding to sleep with a prostitute he had already booked to spend the night with.
The incident happened on Saturday night at Migingo bar in Bigogo area, Bomariba ward, Kisii County.
According to the bar attendant identified only as Evans, trouble started when a police officer who was drunk grabbed the prostitute’s hands and forced her out of the bar to escort him to his house.
"The officer was drunk and he asked the lady to escort him to his house and spend a night there. But, Ndiege who had paid the lady to spend a night with him got angered and descended on the police officer with kicks and blows accusing him of seducing his lady he had booked to sleep with him,” said Evans.
He added that it took the intervention of other clients who were drinking at the facility to separate the two from fighting and forced the police officer who was not armed to leave the bar.
“Ndiege could have killed the police officer who was drunk. The officer should pray to God otherwise, he could be a past tense by now,” he noted.
Area Nyumba Kumi official identified as Mayaka confirmed the incident and said police officers should stop harassing residents when they visit local bars to drink.
He urged police officers to ensure they are beefing up security in the area and not fighting with residents over prostitutes.
