A middle-aged man was today fined Sh90,000 or spentd two months in jail by a Nakuru court after he was found with 50 litres of illicit brew.
Richard Kungumu was found in possession of 50 litres of 'kangara' on August 18 at Rhonda estate in Nakuru.
Kungumu pleaded guilty before senior principal magistrate Liz Gicheha and prayed that the court forgives him, he said that he had no other means of sustaining his family.
"I had nothing to eat in my house and I also had no any other means of sustaining my family so I started to brew chang'aa by using this 'kangara'," he said.
He also told the court the court that he will find other ways of looking for money if he is forgiven.
The prosecution said that he be treated as first offender by the court. The court fined him Sh90,000 or two months in jail.
