It is alleged that the man identified as Erick Opore who hails from Bigogo village in Bomariba persuaded his wife, Teresa, to agree so that they can sell their piece of land to purchase a motorbike and build a new house.

“He was on my neck everyday persuading me to agree we sell the land but after we did that he disappeared with the Sh 250,000,” said the man’s wife.

However residents say that the man might have fled the home in fear of thugs attacking him.

"We are thinking that he might have decided to do so with aim of running away from here so that he is not attacked by goons," said Joshua Mogeni, a local.

He said that they were about to give up because the man had also switched off his phone.

Manyara Nyakoro area Nyumba Kumi official confirmed the incident and warned residents against selling land if they are not in need of cash.

He said Opore sold the land without involving government officers in the area and no agreement was written about it.
