The body of a 35-year-old man was on Friday evening found dead at his house at Kithangani village in Masii location.
Confirming the incident, Mwala OCPD Henry Rukaria said the body of the deceased, identified as Muange Mutambu, had deep cuts on his neck and face.
Rukaria disclosed that the deceased worked at a slaughter house in Masii market.
"The man was found by his wife who went to check on him after she was informed that he did not show up at work on Friday," said Rukaria.
He said the body had been moved to Masii Hospital mortuary noting that police had launched investigations into the incident.
Rukaria called on members of the public to cooperate with provincial administration and volunteer any information that may lead to the arrest of those behind the incident.
