A 30-year old man was on April 4, 2016 in the morning found dead in Machakos town near Machakos primary school fence.

Confirming the incident, Machakos township chief Joshua Kimeu said that the body was discovered by pupils early in the morning as they were going to school who notified the teacher on duty.

According to Kimeu, the deceased also broke both of his hands and had suffered other injuries.. 

"I was notified of the incident at around 6:40am in the morning where I alerted Machakos police who accompanied me to the scene. The deceased had physical injuries which meant that he struggled alot before he was overpowered by unknown people, killing him," said Kimeu. 

Kimeu said that investigations will commence immediately to arrest the culprits.

He also expressed concern over the increased insecurity around that area and pleaded with county government to ensure that street lights are put in place. 

The body of the deceased was taken to Machakos level five hospital mortuary for postmortem.
