Police in Thika sub-county last evening retrieved the body of a 56-year-old man from his one-roomed wood thatched house structure.
Daniel Mburu was found lying lifeless on his bed by his younger brother Joshua Mwaura, 40, who had gone to visit him.
Mwaura told the police that he arrived at his brother’s place only to find the door locked from inside and upon knocking he received no response.
He, therefore, raised an alarm that brought the neighbours to the scene, who helped him gain entrance to his brother’s house by breaking the door.
According to Mwaura, the deceased was living alone and had no complaints of illness for the last three months in anyway whatsoever.
“My brother has lived a normal life and he never complained of any illness in the recent past since I have been visiting him more often,” Joshua explained.
Thika West OCPD Shadrack Maithya confirming the incident, saying the deceased had no visible injuries on his body.
He added that police have launched investigations to get to the bottom of the matter and discover what caused the sudden death.
His body was taken to Thika Level Five hospital mortuary, awaiting postmortem examination.
