Residents of Kivumbini estate Thursday morning woke up to a rude shock after discovering a body lying in a ditch nearby. Nakuru Police boss Bernard Kioko, while confirming the incident, said members of the public informed police at Bondeni police station about the incident before the body was taken to Nakuru General Hospital for postmortem. Kioko said that the 35-year-old man identified as Samuel Wachira who stayed alone in a single room in the estate, was among hawkers who were affected by the recent eviction from the Central Business District and that he had been overly indulging in alcohol. He said a relative of the deceased informed police that the man had been complaining of unemployment and that he might have died after over consuming illicit alcohol as he could have been suffering from depression. “We suspect that he may have over consumed illicit alcohol because there is no physical marks on his body while also his wallet was intact and had Sh200.This rules out robbery and we suspect he may not have eaten before drinking," said the police boss. Police are waiting for a postmortem to determine the real cause of death.
