A 21 years old youth was sentenced to life in jail on Friday by a Nakuru court for defiling a five years old minor.
Senior Resident Magistrate Judicaster Nthuku sentenced Jared Nyangure to life imprisonment after she found him guilty of the offence.
"The accused person didn't care about the psychological effects of his actions on the five years old girl who was already on ARVs; a life long condition. He shattered her life and he deserves no leniency," said Nthuku.
Nthuku said that the prosecution have proven the defilement case beyond reasonable doubt.
The minor in her testimony said Nyangure who is her next door neighbor did 'tabia mbaya' to her and she felt much pain on her private part.
She said that he inserted his finger on her private part and touch her before inserting his private part on hers.
He allegedly committed the crime on November 24, 2014 at Mwariki area within Nakuru County.
The minor's father Thomas Onyango testified and said his family had no grudge with the accused and the cruel act on his child breaks his heart.
The doctor who examined the minor testified that the child had tears on her private part.
In his defense he said that his HIV status was not examined however the court said that even if he was tested and his status was negative doesn't mean that he didn't defile the minor.
The court found him guilty of the offense and sentenced him to life under section 215 of the criminal procedure code cap 75.
The court further said that can appeal the sentence within 14 days.
