Man shocks residents of Kiamabundu village after he set his parents' house on fire on Monday evening. [Photo/Standard.]A middle-aged man on Monday evening set on fire his parents’ house after a quarrel in Kiamabundu village in Kisii County.
Area Chief George Opanga confirmed the incident and said, on Sunday the man attacked and injured his parents after they sold a water container that he had been using to store water.
Opanga said the suspect disappeared after the Sunday incident and on Monday evening he arrived home with a 5-liter container full of petrol which he used to set the house on fire.
“He arrived at home and ordered his mother to get out of the house before he set the house on fire. Neighbors tried to contain the fire but in vain," said the administrator.
Opanga said nothing was saved from the house since the fire spread too fast.
The man has since gone into hiding.
