Acording to his wife, identified as Jennifer Nyakang'i said that her husband went into hiding on Friday last week after bank officials raided her home threatening to auction their property.

"The bank officials raided our home on Friday morning and said that they will be back on Wednesday to take the money and auction the small piece of land. We have tried to reach him in vain," she said.

Ms Nyakang'i accused her husband for misusing the funds to play cards at a local casiono centre.

She said that she borrowed the money in April and pretended that he would use it to take his daughter to school which never happened. When I questioned him on it he started becoming violent to me and threatened to kill me," said the woman.

Area assistant chief Benjamin Ayuma confirmed the incident saying that the man is being pursued so that he can repay the money back before the family property is auctioned.

"We are not financially fit and if they sale the land we shall be in problems," she said.

He warned men against borrowing loans from self help groups and use it for drinking illegal brew.
